Bay Island Driftwood Museum comprises a sole collection of quality driftwood articles which holds high artistic values, prepared through an inventive modern art technique. The museum also houses various root and tree trunk sculptures in unique forms and designs.
It is founded by RajiPunnoose, a dynamic school teacher in Andaman and Nicober Islands. The statues in the museum are the transformed driftwood pieces, comprising of twisted tree trunks, stumps, roots etc., which had collected from the seashores in Andaman and Nicober Islands. Many of the sculptures or pieces resemble birds, animals, reptiles, amphibians and fishes. It is a worth visiting place in Kumarakom, listed in the Limca Books of Records, Bay Island Driftwood Museum with its artistic values and uniqueness.
