The Mandagadde Bird Sanctuary, located at a few km distances from Shimoga town route Thirthahalli, is a small island on River Tunga. This island, which is also a part of Shettihalli Wildlife Sanctuary, is visited by migratory birds like egret, cormorant, darter, snake-bird, etc. during July to October.
