Kalpetta is a vital town in the Wayanad District, which is situated on the main Kozhikode-Mysore National Highway. It is also the managerial headquarters of the Wayanad District. The whole town is surrounded by coffee plantations and huge mountains. It is a popular trading centre, which is a renowned hub of traditional spices, tea and coffee. Some of the famous Jain temples are situated within the town of Kalpetta that attract mass of tourists.
