Jain Basadi:Karkala was an extraordinary Jain focus from the antiquated times nad was the capital of the Santra crew. The gigantic Gommata statue here was commissioned in 1432 A.d. by Veera Pandyadeva a leader of Bhairarasa(santra) group of Karkala,who controlled here throughout the fourteenth century A.d.this statue has been cut out of a solitary stone standing on a 300feet high rise. The different sanctuaries in Karkala incorporate Parshwanatha Basadi which has an icon of Bhagawan Parshwanatha and a symbol of Padmavathi Devi and Chandranatha Basadi it has in it the symbol of Bhagawan Chandranatha in the Kayotsarga pose on top of the icon of Yakshi Kushmandini.
